CFA level I: The first of three series
The CFA exam is administered by the CFA Institute and comprises of 3 Levels. These are the Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 exams. The exams are given every first weekend of June of each year. Of the three levels, the Level 1 this exam is given twice a year, during the month of June and December.
For a candidate to take the next level is to pass the CFA Level 1 exam. The CFA Level 1 examination is centered on tools and concepts that are applied in investments valuation and management. It also includes an overview of the asset valuation and portfolio management techniques. The Level 1 exam consists of 240 multiple-choice questions, 120 on the morning session and 120 on the afternoon session. Each session is allotted 3 hours for the test takers to answer, a total of 6 hours on the said exam.
The curriculum for CFA Level 1 covers questions that include:
۱٫ Ethics and Professional Standards
۲٫ Quantitative Methods such as time value of money, and statistical inference
۴٫ Financial Statement Analysis
۵٫ Corporate Finance
۶٫ Analysis of Investments on stocks, bonds, derivatives, venture capital, real estate, etc.
۷٫ Portfolio Management and Analysis such as asset allocation,
portfolio risk, performance measurement, etc.
The CFA level 1 is the first in the series of the three exams given by CFA Institute. This exam is viewed as the most difficult Pass the CFA level 1 and move to the next level.
